General Care
When not in use, keep leather products in a dry location and away from direct sunlight and humid conditions. This helps to prevent premature aging of the leather and mold.
Over time exposure to the elements and moisture will compromise the integrity of the thread, leather, and adhesives used during the process of manufacturing of the product. Due to the nature of genuine leathers and the damage from sunlight, the leather may fade in time. To prevent fading limit the direct sunlight exposure as much as possible. Think of your leather goods and tack as an investment. With diligent and correct care/storage, you can get the maximum return on your investment through years of safe use.
CLEANING/CONDITIONING
Please consult a leather cleaning professional for cleaning your items or for cleaning best practices. Follow the product's manufacturers instructions for proper conditioning.
CRYSTALS
A damp cloth or soft bristle brush and mild soap are ideally the best choice to clean the rim set crystals on your item. After cleaning, apply glass cleaner to soft cloth and gently polish.
FRINGE
Spot wash using a soft cloth and mild soap, if needed. Damp fringe is prone to stretching, so use care when cleaning. Allow fringe to naturally air dry.
HAIR ON COWHIDES
Hair on cowhides are a naturally grown material and like all things with hair, they SHED. This is a completely natural of any hair material.
HAIR ON COWHIDE WILL EVENTUALLY SHED CAUSING BALD SPOTS.
If this is not a look you are ok with, please reconsider purchasing anything with hair on cowhide.
** Any balding, thinning, rub marks or shedding of the hair is not covered under
our warranty and cannot be repaired, returned or exchanged.**
It is the customer’s responsibility to take appropriate care of your leather items and
protect your purchase. Wild Child Leather Co. will not warranty costs for
product issues due to abuse or neglect.
